Starting a new chapter

I am so excited. I just got the results for my test to become a Georgia Teacher and I passed both parts. I was so nervous about taking the test, but I aced it. I am so happy that Zeke pushed me to take the test. He believed in me even when I did not. I was not sure if I could do it but he was. I am so happy, now I just need to apply for certification to get my temporary credentials and start looking for a new job.

New family members

We welcomed 6 new family members today. They are so cute and fluffy. They are just so happy about their new home, I guess wish that A would leave them alone long enough so that they can get some rest. At least they will only have to be in the house for another 3 weeks.  I know it is going to be a long 3 weeks. So soft and cuddly, brown, black, yellow and gray colors so wonderful. So if you are wondering what I am talking about they are 6 baby chicks- 2 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Amercaunas, and 2 Buff orpingtons. We are building a coop for them outside but until then they will be living in the house with us.

Garden

This year I am going back to my roots. I am planting a garden and I WILL keep up with it this year. I have planted so far this year - tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, Kentucky wonder beans, sweet corn, black Dakota popcorn, squash, collards, cabbage, broccoli, lettuce, 3 type of cantaloupes and 3 varieties of watermelons. We have planted several trees this year as well- 2 Hood pears, Fuji apple, Granny Smith Apple, Braeburn pear, 1 crab apple, a transcendent  crabapple, a Washington navel, and 2 Dorset apple trees.  

I am using the 3 sisters method to grow some of the corn, beans and squash.  I am waiting until the corn gets  (6 inches tall) large enough to put the beans in the ground. Then I will plant the squash around the corn and beans.  The squash will be used as a natural  weed prevention since it will cover the area under the corn. The beans will use the corn as a  lattice and grow up on it.

For 4 types of the beans I am using the tepee method. The beans are doing well so far. I will need to post pictures soon.  Some things are sprouting nicely and others are not.

Back

The kids are back in school. Oh boy what a relief. I do love them but we all need a break from the sometimes. The holidays are just too stressful now. People just spend too much then wonder why they are in debt.

hello

I just wanted to tell everyone hi and hope that everyone is having a great New Year.  We are doing  great this year we had a wonderful Christmas.

Summer

Boy summer has kept me busy. The kids are out and the summer is full of stuff to do with them. We are just chilling around the house most days. Heat index is suppose to be 105 tomorrow. We will not be going out much tomorrow except in the morning. Went to storytime today at least that was the plan but Aiden did not want to flow with the plan so we picked out some books and played in the children's area.

Wal-mart

Usually I have a pretty decent time shopping there, but not today. I went to checkout and the cashier was so rude. She did not want to price match some of my items. What really pissed me off was that she acted like she did not want to take my coupons for my items. She starts to tell me she can't take them because it say one per purchase and I had more that one item. I tried to explain it to her but she said it was only one per transaction. I told her to cancel the entire order and I would go to Customer service. Went there and the CSM told me she could not take the coupon period I was like why because it came out of the newspaper. I had to wait 10 minutes before she came back and told me it was okay to use the coupons. It just made me so made because it wasted time that was suppose to be spent shopping in another store. I called corporate when I got home and discussed my compliant.

Weight

Oh yeah I have lost 13 pounds so far. I am so happy about this. I have 22 more pounds to go. I would like to get down to 150 maybe before next year. I know that it is a journey that I will be on for a while. I just need to keep the goal in mind. I have cut back on the junk food that I eat. I love to drink soda because this is my downfall. Soda is so hard for me to get rid of. I try to drink only one a day which really means one a night because that is when I need something to drink, since Aiden is not sleeping through the night. Hopefully he will be doing this before Nicholas. he was almost 2 before he slept through the night.

Teeth Drama

Why is it that the same time that Aiden is cutting 4 molars and yes I did say 4, that my tooth has to start hurting. Man I am so upset about that. I am in pain, he does not want to sleep at night due to the pain. I wish I could take some meds without conking out. The only thing I can take is some children chewables. The Tylenol is not doing anything for him. Going to have to give in and get me some Anbesol. Man I do not want to go to the dentist b/c they are going to want to do the crown, which is another 900 for a bad filling that they messed up. I am trying to wait for when it is warmer, the cold air now would have me crying like a baby for those 2 weeks. Oh well off to the store to get some Anbesol but first I am going here to print a $1 off coupon for the Anbesol.

Weight Loss Journey

I am trying to loss the baby weight from my last son. I gained more weight after I had him because I was breastfeeding. The weight just kept coming and coming. It was creeping up on me. One day I looked down at the scale and it read 185. OMG that was more than when I was pregnant with Aiden. I know that I need to lose weight because high blood pressure, diabetes and heart problems run in the family. So far I have been doing some simple exercise. I do Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds. It is is real nice and easy for a beginner and it works up a nice sweat. Doing this video and limiting my sweets I have lost 11 pounds so far. My goal weight is 150 and then more but for right now, 150 is what I am striving for. I know that the weight does not magically slip off but at times it is hard to find time to exercise with an active 1 year that does not like to take naps anymore. I will just keep chugging along.

propane hookup

Man yesterday was long day. We tried to help my mom get more gas for the house. We had to go pick up the tank take I to the dealer to get it filled then try to hook it up once we get home. We thought we didn't need a part and come to find out we didn't. We made 2 blank trips to the part store and come to find out everything we needed was already to the house. We got the line replaced but no gas to come through. Well we found out this morning that a gas professional needs to come to check the line because the stove has an electrical start. Good thing we did not keep trying or the whole thing could have blown up. glad she has electric heaters to keep warm because it is cold in SE GA right now. Kids enjoyed the time over there chasing the cats and playing with the dogs so the time was not wasted.

Just starting out

Well I am not sure where to start so I guess I should start by telling you about myself. I am the proud mom of 4 boys, ages 16,14, 5 and 1, and wife to Zeke for 10 years. I am a SAHM. I love watching my boys grow. I am relearning how to use coupons. Trying to save money in the new year.
